Park day tracking or just looking for that new pizza spot, this little Edge tells you more about your time on two wheels. Shrunk down and armoured up, the Edge MTB has been designed for those of us who like to get sendy. Equipped with a powerful GPS, you stay connected under heavy canopy and when riding through valleys, letting you track all of your ride. Most GPS bike computers check in with satellites once a second. When climbing or rolling through singletrack, that is enough, but when things speed up, once a second can’t keep up. Updated with a 5Hz mode, the Edge MTB checks in with the satellite five times a second, flowing with you through every berm. This faster recording rate automatically kicks in when you start your descent in Enduro mode or when you drop in in Downhill mode. Timing gate functionality helps you dial in your times for specific legs of a trail. You can even compare times and trail positions with other riders on the free Garmin Connect app, so you can see where to gain precious seconds. When connected to your phone, you can receive notifications, download training plans, review activities, keep an eye on the weather, and more.

  • Multi-band signal reception and expanded GNSS support (GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, QZSS and IRNSS) provide faster and more accurate positioning and elevation data
  • 5Hz GPS recording rate improves accuracy on fast descents, vs the standard 1Hz recording rate.
  • Downhill mode tracks your runs via the internal altimeter, knowing when you’re on the chairlift up and when you drop in
  • Enduro mode breaks out your ascent and descent sections of your ride
  • eMTB mode wirelessly connects to compatible eMTBs to display battery status, assist level, smart range routing and more (options vary by eBike model)
  • Timing gate feature lets you session splits to improve your times
  • Run tracking is there for sessioning and park days
  • Mountain biking dynamics include specific metrics, jumps: hangtime, distance and speed, grit: overall trail difficulty, and flow: a score of how smoothly you rode the trail
  • TrailForks™ integration for access to TrailForks trail database without a cell connection
  • ForkSight mode uses TraliForks data when you get to a fork, telling about your choices, e.g., trail rating, distance, elevation, etc
  • Free global maps, with North America preloaded and more regions downloadable
  • ClimbPro™ ascent planner breaks down the climbs in your ride, letting you know the grade, the total ascent, remaining ascent, and displays an elevation profile (no course required)
  • Strava Segment integration (requires premium) preloaded or on-the-fly via your phone, shows starred segments and results
  • Road hazard mode uses data from other Edge users, to let riders know when there is a hazard coming up. Find a big pothole, report it and that data is uploaded to other riders
  • Live Tracking during activities (via phone) allows you to share your location, speed, course and more, with friends, family, or coaches
  • Live Tracking makes group rides even better, showing real-time location of fellow Edge users, and even alerting the group if someone bails
  • Training plan takes you through the details of your ride: weather conditions, food and water requirements based on your fitness
  • Environmental factors like heat and altitude acclimation are taken into consideration when calculating performance and recovery metrics
  • Training status and daily suggested workouts help you optimize your training, guiding you where you need to push and where you may need to dial it back
  • Physiological metrics includes VO2 max estimate, lactate threshold, race predictor, recovery advisor and performance indicator (requires not included heartrate chest strap)
  • Bike alarm mode sounds a loud, shrill, alarm if your bike is touched
  • Incident detection uses accelerometers to detect accident and uses you phone to send a signal to predefined emergency contacts
  • inReach® compatibility, connect to an inReach for messaging and SOS support when off the grid
  • Rechargeable lithium-ion battery lasts up to 14 hours in with full GPS and sensor support, or up to 26 in battery saver mode
  • In the box: Edge MTB, top tube mount – with bolt-on and strap options, handlebar mount with shims, USB-C cable, tether and documentation
