This triathlon and time trial bike is inspired by Ridley’s fleet of world-class race bikes. The high-modulus carbon fibre frame is what you want to pull off the rack when you need to put some distance between you and the pack. The priority is aerodynamics: droplet-shaped downtube, oversized tapered headtube, internal cable routing, rear-facing font brake, but the Dean RS Ultegra throws a realistic nod to comfort: shortened top tube and a lengthened headtube. When you encounter turbulence en route, the F-split fork pulls air away from the wheel and spokes, reducing drag by about 7.4%. The Regular Seatpost (RS) makes travel easier for those flying to Kona, or wherever your race destination may be. Ultegra 11-speed drivetrain makes power transfer extremely efficient and the lightweight Fulcrum Racing Quattros makes manoeuvring feel effortless. Here’s to you slicing through the wind.
- Built from the ground up, the Ridley Dean RS HM frame is made of a resilient blend of different strength (40 to 24-ton) high-modulus unidirectional carbon fibre for the right blend of stiffness, lightness and resilience
- F-surface technology strategically places textured surfaces in areas where air slips off the frame, to smooth overall airflow and reduce drag by approximately 3.6%
- Droplet shaped, aero-optimizing tubes allow the airstream to closely follow the profile of the bike. F-split fork helps pull air away from the wheels (and spokes) reducing turbulence and drag
- Adjustable aero carbon seatpost is ideal for travelling triathletes, packing up easier than an integrated seat mast
- Oversized tapered headtube increases the contact area of the lower headset bearing to add rigidity and dissipate vibrations
- Shimano Ultegra 11 speed drivetrain delivers smooth, efficient power transfer from rider to road
- Pressfit 30 bottom bracket allows the use of wider down tube and bottom bracket shell, providing maximum power output
- RotoR 3DF Semi-Compact cranks are designed to be extremely stiff and lightweight; a necessary combination for both sprinting and climbing
- Deda Kronos TT carbon handlebars adds a tight, controllable cockpit and customizable stem-bar combination
- Racing Quattro wheelset is entirely hand-assembled by a specialized Fulcrum technician, double checked via electronic instrumentation
- Internal cable routing is clean, aero, and compatible with mechanical and electronic shifting. Mechanical cable stopper can be removed for conversion to electronic shifting
- This model is not equipped with pedals
- Bikes are covered by MEC's Rocksolid Guarantee and Bike Service Agreement. You can bring your bike to any MEC Bike Shop for free adjustments and minor maintenance for a year after purchase
- Ridley was born in Flanders, Belgium, a region infamous for harsh cycling conditions. Against this backdrop Ridley engineers, tests, and refines its frame construction, race technology, tube profiles, and its own branded component line, 4ZA
