Wear a shoe that reminds you why you love trail running. Without an insert, and minimal midsoles and outsoles, you get about as close to the dirt, root, and gnarl as someone wearing shoes can. But don't feel like you need to tiptoe around the sticks and stones – lightweight foam in the midsoles provides just enough of a separation to keep you comfortable. A wider forefoot allows your foot to expand naturally on impact, and a redesigned forefoot band provides support without constriction.
