Named for the premier backcountry run accessible from Blackcomb Mountain, the Husume is Prior’s answer to the quiver-of-one backcountry ski question. It blends rockered powder tip and tail, traditional underfoot camber, moderately long sidecut, and sweet flex. The result is a ski that kills it in the powder and still has a enough bite for everyday use on Whistler in-bound chunder and hard pack. Mount it AT or Tele and don’t forget to pack you avy gear when you hit the lifts.
- 2013 version is tweaked thusly: longer in the tip, little more sidecut, slightly wider waist, and a refined shape through the tail
- Vertically laminated aspen wood core with maple stringers to keep it nimble edge to edge
- Progressive width provides enough float for deep and variable snow condition
- Hybrid rocker technology with traditional underfoot camber provides stability and turning ease in all snow conditions
- Refined tail shape for easy skin attachment
- A backcountry ski that still skis well enough for everyday use in bounds
