The blade on this paddle is angled at 12 degrees out from the shaft, positioning the blade vertically in the water during the most effective and powerful part of a forward stroke.
Folks doing long periods of flatwater paddling love this increased efficiency. (Note that some paddlers prefer to switch back to a conventionally-angled paddle when running whitewater – they find easier to lay out braces with a regular paddle).
